About
dengel design

Montagne is a conceptual ski equipment company whose branding combines the scenic landscapes associated mountain ranges with the refined essence of modern design. The Montage brand identity draws from many sources of inspiration. Geographic heatmaps create an interesting pattern and gradient of colors that contrast well with simplified geometric shapes.

The final design for the Montagne draws from the letterform of ‘M’ while also alluding to the peaks of a mountain range. The ‘M’ has a bold outline, and the inside of the logo has a rainbow gradient as a reference to heat map style graphs. Interstate is used as the main typeface, and Chantal provides a stark contrast to its simplicity.

The information on the packaging was designed and placed with the customer in mind. All the information about the product a customer would want to immediately see is placed on the front of the box. Sizing information is in a familiar place for any shoe box, and additional brand information is located on the back of the box. The topographical map on the top and back sides of the box enhances the imagery of the mountains in the logo and compliment the color scheme of the brand.
